The Cleanup Network
Our participant network includes marinas, local partners, and academic institutions throughout the binational Great Lakes region, as well as sites that are part of affiliated initiatives across Canada and the United States.
Explore our Marina Portal below to view more information about our participant sites, including litter profiles for marinas at which "deep dive" litter analyses have been carried out.
Launched in August 2020, the Great Lakes Plastic Cleanup is working with 33 marinas to deploy litter capture technologies along Ontario's Great Lakes shoreline and other major waterways.
Starting in 2022, the Great Lakes Plastic Cleanup expanded to the United States and is working with local partners and academic institutions to deploy litter capture technologies along and near the shores of Lake Ontario, Erie, and Michigan.
