About the event

Looking for something fun and educational to do this summer? Join the Great Lakes Plastic Cleanup (GLPC), an initiative of Pollution Probe and the Council of the Great Lakes Region, and a small team of volunteers to assist in the waste characterization and data collection process of debris captured in the Georgian Bay Seabins at Point Pleasant Marina!

Seabins are devices that float near the surface of the water and capture litter that is within the water. From smaller items such as plastic fragments and cigarette butts, to larger take-out food and beverage containers, the Seabins are able to collect a variety of items. It is important to collect and sort the waste to determine the types of items that are frequently making their way into the Georgian Bay and Lake Huron and negatively affecting our waterways!

All equipment required will be provided by GLPC, and we only ask you…
